Pen and Ink

This is my set of celebrity portraits, done in pen & ink. Started off with Alfred Hitchcock in a sketchbook several years ago, and before I knew it was filling the sketchbook with these images. The thing with portraits, I’ve always found, is that if you don’t get the eyes right, you might as well just stop. It’s all about the eyes, their expression. If you’re the slightest millimeter off in the eyelids, it’s all over with. I had some great photographs to work from with here, which made doing these that much more fun.
